Women Deserve Better

According to Wikipedia, "feminism refers to movements aimed at defining, establishing and defending equal political, economic, and social rights and equal opportunities for women."

My views on feminism are rocky. I believe in women having equal rights politically and in the workplace. I believe women should be treat fairly and not better or worse than men. I do not, however, believe women are better or higher than men. I believe in feminism up to the point of abortions.

Its Thursday night around 7pm. I'm sitting in my Social Diversity and Equality class. Its an interesting class but definitely very liberal.  I'm tired and have had a long day at work and the last thing I want to do is sit in a 3 hour class. The topic for the week was sexism. So the teacher decided to show a little movie about feminism. The movie was just a bunch of interviews with feminists on various topics. Knowing a bit about feminist beliefs ,due to a Woman's Study class, I know abortion was on their hate list. That fact alone kept me from falling to sleep.

Here is what happened.

One of the women said that the media is just after money when it comes to exploit women. Feminists are fighting to end this exploitation Let me see if I get this straight: media exploits women for money and women are fighting to stop it but Planned Parenthood exposes women for money and some feminists fight to support it.

Another woman that was being interviewed claimed to have had an abortion and for years she tried making herself feel guilty but never did. She said she felt that having the abortion was the first time she ever took responsibility for herself and, in her words,it was a positive experience. If you read one of my earlier posts it talks about the abortion-breast cancer link. So I will mention that this same woman later had breast cancer.

The next woman talked about how women can't control their "fertile situation" and abortions have to be legal so women don't die. Approximately 400 women have died from legal abortions not to mention how many female babies have died. (This does not include how many women have died from cancer caused by abortions.)

One thing that really upset me about this video is that they kept showing clips of pro-life activists protesting. The clips they showed were from the 80s and the protesters were being violent. Which is an unfair representation. Pro-life violent protesters are extremists. Every group has them. During March for Life 2011, over 300,000 pro-lifers gathered together in protest. To my knowledge there was not one act of violence.

This next statement made me livid. "People against abortion and fight to try to end it support violence against women." said one feminist. Do I even need to go into the physical complications of abortions?

It was clear to me that these feminists value "reproductive rights" over simple human rights.

The last thing that really bothered me was that throughout the abortion segment, no one ever said the words pro-life. Pro-lifers were referred to as anti-abortion. Therefore, instead of calling them "pro-choice" they need to be referred to as anti-life and ,my personal favorite, pro-death.

Now that I have painted a dim and dark picture of feminism I feel that its my responsibility to paint another brighter picture.

There is a pro-life feminist group http://feministsforlife.org/

The Feminists for Life are dedicated to "systematically eliminating the root causes that drive women to abortion—primarily lack of practical resources and support—through holistic woman-centered solution."

"Ask Them What They Mean by Choice" Blog Day

The NARAL announced that today would be "Blog for Choice" day. This is appalling because it looks as though they are celebrating the anniversary of Roe v. Wade which is tomorrow. What has our country come to that we celebrate the killing of 50 million babies?! Jill Stanek decided to rally pro-life bloggers together and start a "Ask Them What They Mean by Choice" day. Where when pro-life bloggers come across someone who is pro-choice we can them out on it and ask them what the "choice" is. So far 95 bloggers including myself are participating. Its time we stand up and call pro-choice bloggers/believers out and make them explain their obscure "beliefs" that killing babies out of mere choice is barbaric.

Since tomorrow is the anniversary of Roe v. Wade I am asking all my viewers and like minded pro-lifers to be in constant prayer...our nation needs to more than ever right now.

Life unworthy of Life?

Margaret Sanger.

Google the name.

I did and got 808,000 results. The first three websites were the most popular. These websites will tell you that Margaret Sanger was a "pioneer" and founder of the American Birth Control League. She dedicated her time to the distribution of birth control. She wrote controversial articles for the Socialist paper. In 1916, she set up the first birth control clinic in the United States. She is portrayed as a pioneer and advocate for "women's rights."

That doesn't sound too scary right?

Wrong.

There are some things those websites and the liberal media won't tell you.

Margaret created a paper called The Birth Control Review. One master head said "to create a race of thoroughbreds" another read "joyous and deliberate motherhood: a sure light in our racial darkness." One of her most trusted board advisor's was the daughter of Lothrop Studdard. Lothrop wrote a book called The Rising Tide of Color Against White World Supremacy. In this book he writes " crossings with the negro are always fatal." The Birth Control Review featured articles written by doctors of the Third Reich.

"...human weeds,' 'reckless breeders,' 'spawning... human beings who never should have been born."  Margaret Sanger, Pivot of Civilization, referring to immigrants and poor people

"More children from the fit, less from the unfit -- that is the chief aim of birth control." Birth Control Review, May 1919, p. 12

Sanger believed that, for the purpose of racial "purification," couples should be rewarded who chose sterilization. Birth Control in America, The Career of Margaret Sanger, by David Kennedy, p. 117, quoting a 1923 Sanger speech.

She referred to the minority population as "Life unworthy of life."

Need I say more?

October-November 2008
I was particpating in the College of Republicans group at school. Our purpose was to help educate local voters on the stance of the Republican party and help endorse and promote our candidates. Therefore I was favorings John McCain. I have to add that I did not agree with all his positions 100% but whether you are Republican, Democrat, or Independent you as a human being are not going to agree with anyone on everything. But to me he was the lesser of two evils.

I have not hidden the fact that I do not and will not support Obama or his positions on several/ most issues. Whenever an Obama supporter finds this out I am automatically labeled a rascist. This unnerved me. I had always thought you were supposed to vote for someone who shared your views and who you thought was capable to properly run a country. Apparently I was wrong.

One thing Mr. Obama and I really disagree on is the abortion issue.

March 11, 2009 – Obama administration promotes an unlimited right to abortion at a United Nations meeting.

March 11, 2009 – Obama administration officials deny negative effects of abortion at United Nation’s meeting.

April 14 – Obama administration releases document that claims pro-life people may engage in violence or extremism.

May 8 – President Obama’s new budget calls for taxpayer funded abortions in the nation’s capital.

May 8 – President Obama’s budget eliminates all federal funding for abstinence-only education.

The list goes on: http://www.lifenews.com/2010/11/07/obamaabortionrecord/

Let me see if I get this right.

Obama, who of course is African American, supports abortion which is advocated by Planned Parenthood whose agenda could still possibly be to "exterminate" the African American race.

But I am racist because I didn't vote for him?

And in 2008 this man had approximately 95% of African Americans voting for him.

28% African Americans have been aborted since Roe vs. Wade which is approximately 14 million.
78% of Planned Parenthood facilities are in minority neighborhoods.

Those are the facts.

If you don't believe me watch these two documentaries BloodMoney and Maafa21 or search the facts out for yourself.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character"

New Year's Resolutions 2011

It's the New Year, a time to "start over" and "change." Usually I do not make resolutions because I believe why wait til the new year to change? A lot of people vow to lose weight, stop drinking pop or get a new job. However, those resolutions only last a few months or so.

I have decided to make some resolutions of my own this year.

1. video blog the events/protests I attend/organize
2. attend/organize 5 protests/events
3. volunteer twice a month at a local pregnancy crisis center
4. boycott 5 different companies that support Planned Parenthood and write letters to their CEOs consistently
5. pray once a month at a local Planned Parenthood
6. make plans to attend the March for Life 2012 for the full week
7. actively participate in the 40 Days for Life
8. buy/rent a house...so I can set up a OneVoice headquarters! (ok..maybe that last part is a lil far fetched :-)
9. become more involved in my church and motivate them to be more aware of the pro-life issue
10. consistently post on this blog once..maybe twice a week!

These are things that I will strive to accomplish in 2011.

What are you going to accomplish this year?

"I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented."

Christmas Wish

This year I spent Christmas at my in-laws. In the 23 years I have been alive I have never spent Christmas away from my family. I am very close to them and Christmas is very special to me especially with my brother being deployed.

Christmas Eve started out rough. I had to work and I was almost late getting there. Work was busy and people were not using their brains which made my job harder. I had to cook soup for Christmas Eve dinner later that night...and it did not turn out right. After work I was exhausted and in a rush to get everything together for that night.

But then I remembered what Christmas is really about. I decided to make the best of it despite how I felt. As soon as we got to my in-laws I started seeing the family laugh and mingle and I became emotional. I missed my family and what Christmas used to be like when I was a child.

After dinner we all sat down around the tree while they passed out the presents. I sat in the background feeling like an outsider looking in. Although, it was fun and interesting to see all the different people all together.

As the kids were opening presents I couldn't help but laugh and smile when I saw the pure joy and excitement on their faces. It got me thinking about how maybe the pro-life movement is so set on saving unborn babies that we sometimes loose focus on children that are already here. While the saving the unborn babies is extremely important in my book however, what happens to the babies that ARE saved?

Our job as pro-life "activists" or "abolitionists"(or whatever other term you want to use) is to protect and defend LIFE which should not be limited to unborn life.

Wikipedia defines pro-life as: political and ethical opposition to elective abortion, and support for its legal prohibition or restriction.

While opposing  abortion is our main goal I believe it is much deeper than that. Our mission is enriching, protecting, and cherishing all life pre and post birth.

There are so many children who did not get any presents for Christmas and that breaks my heart. This year my husband and I had the privilege to participate in the Angel Tree Program. We chose to buy for a little boy age 9-12 months. We had so much fun shopping for him. We bought him a Toy Story car, some bibs, and a book. It was really awesome to know that Christmas morning he was going to be so excited to open our presents.

Pro-lifers often get stuck with the label of anti-abortion or anti-choice. But really we are much more than that, we believe in rights for ALL ages and forms of life.

All this made me think of what I truly wanted for Christmas. Seeing these children's faces made me think that material things are not so important. Yes, they are fun and great to have. But my Christmas wish is beyond that. My wish for this next year is simply this: better days. Around Christmas time I always think of one of my favorite songs by the Goo Goo Dolls called "Better Days"
My favorite parts are the first and second verse:
And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just the chance that maybe we'll find better days
Cause I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And designer love and empty things
Just the chance that maybe we'll find better days

I need someplace simple where we can live
And something only you can give
And that's faith and trust and peace while we're alive
And the one poor Child who saved this world
And there's ten million more who probably could
If we all just stopped and said a prayer for them
